The Australian Centre for the Moving Image today launched Hollywood Costume as part of the Melbourne Winter Masterpieces. This adds to their growing list of huge exhibitions they have had the chance to show. It is the only stop in Australia on it's tour and is the first stop after having a massive premier at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

A special guest Deborah Landis {Costume Designer from Blues Brothers, Coming to America to Michael Jackson's Thriller and Animal House} was there to help launch the exhibition and being the curator and costume designer was an amazing experience to hear from her.

The exhibition show cases a 100 iconic costumes and over 50 well known designers through out a three scene set up; What is Costume Design?, Creative Contexts and The Finale.

Dorothy's famous Ruby Slippers from The Wizard of Oz, on show with her checked dress, amongst other costumes from The Addams Family films, Brad Pitt and Edward Norton's attire from Fight Club and even Terminator, The Matrix, Spiderman to Breakfast at Tiffanys, Marie Antoinette and Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events.

Hollywood Costume runs from Wednesday 24 April - Sunday 18 August 2013 at ACMI and is a must see for people who love film, design and textiles.
