Sucker Punch ::

Zack Snyder is well known with his action packed films such as Watchmen & 300, and this one doesn't disappoint. Sucker Punch follows Babydoll {Emily Browning} and her conrads Sweet Pea {Abbie Cornish}, Rocket {Jena Malone}, Blondie {Vanessa Hudgens} and Amber {Jamie Chung} around an imaginative world crossed between the harsh reality of the Lennox House for the Mentally Insane.

The 5 girls are set with the quest to gain items to help set them free, each one in easy reach but guarded by things in which they must get around. The actions scenes are filled with giant samurai robots bleeding light, Steam & clockwork powered zombie soilders, blimps & has everything.

These scenes swap between the frames in which Babydoll dances; the asylum is transformed into a brothel-esque manner through her eyes. It is a little messy as a whole but gets the story across.

There has been mixed reviews with this film but I personally loved it despite feeling a little lost at times {plus have been waiting almost 1 year for this to show}. The imagery is gorgeously gloomy and of course it isn't a Snyder film with out the slow motion special effects.

Sucker Punch is now showing around Australia so check your local Cinema for screening times.
