"Did you ever want to start a band? Joan Jett did, and succeeded. The Runaways is a factual film based on the 1970’s all-girl punk band The Runaways, starring Dakota Fanning as Cherie Currie and Kristen Stewart as Joan Jett.

With foul mouthed promoter in Kim Fowley {played by Michael Shannon} who pushes them into the deep end with hecklers, a tour with no money on hand and the expectation to sell millions, the girls make it big in Japan.

Like most biographic films, cue the sex and drugs - where Currie develops a problem and then refuses to be Fowleys’ “lap dog”, and leaves. Jett keeps strong and comes back with her own kind of music and continues to create and perform today.

Both Fanning and Stewart’s roles showed an edge to their acting abilities {compared to their previous films} but shows they are willing to create themselves into that character.

The Runaways is out on DVD through Sony on November 24th."

"Question: What do you love about Bendigo?
Kelly: I love View Street - the cafes, cute boutiques, antique shops and the galleries. I also love the feel of Chancery Land as well."
